Winter Fireworks Spectacular
Rug up for the family-friendly Winter Fireworks Spectacular on Saturday 1 July, and start the month with a bang!
Make your way to the carpark north of the New Brighton Pier where you can enjoy live entertainment and music by Sign of the Firebird, as well as great food from a range of local vendors, from 5.30pm until 8pm.
The free display of spectacular fireworks, set to a soundtrack of classic rock hits, will light up the sky from 7.30pm. Sing along with the tunes, soak in the sights, take a walk on the beach and feel the community spirit.

Marvel at the beauty of Tīrama Mai – our annual Puaka-Matariki festival of light. The free, family-friendly event, powered by Orion and Connetics, is on every night from Friday 7 July to Saturday 15 July.
From 5pm, Victoria Square and Ōtākaro Avon River Precinct will be aglow with stunning lighting displays – including projections, illuminated artworks and interactive installations. Live performances and storytelling will feature on weekend evenings.

Go Live Festival
Get your concert fix this winter at Go Live – the music festival taking over the iconic Christchurch Town Hall from 7pm to 11pm on 29 July. See your pick of 14 homegrown music acts across four stages, including headliner act, the legendary Tiki Taane.
See everything from hip-hop backed by a seven-piece band to chart-topping pop tunes and easy listening, electronic and alternative acts. Expect strong vocals, big stage presence, and emotive, energetic and electrifying performances.
The line-up also delivers a mix of indie and rock music, brought to you by bands with many gigs and tours under their belt.
