Also at the Riverlution Eco Hub this Saturday is the Trap Collection Day. The free session will be on from 1pm – 2pm Saturday.

Banks Peninsula Agricultural and Pastoral Show

Wander around the trade stalls and enjoy the variety of food caravans, magic shows and vintage machinery at the Banks Peninsula Agricultural and Pastoral Show this weekend. Watch the duck yarding, fashion in the field competition, dog high jump, speed shearing and demonstrations, wood chopping and gumboot Friday gumboot toss – all happening at the Awa-iti Domain, Little River, from 8am – 6pm Saturday.

Bread and Circus World Buskers Festival

The 2024 Bread and Circus World Buskers Festival is kicking off this weekend, running from 19 to 28 January. Enjoy ten jam-packed days of fun and frolics for the young, the old and the young at heart. The summer street celebration is now in its 31st year, and will see central Christchurch transformed into an interactive playground set across multiple open-air busking pitches and some of the city’s best loved landmarks. Get involved in a range of free and ticketed events including the Buskers’ Comedy Club, the silent disco walking tour and happy yoga.

Stories in the Park

Enjoy the summer and come and listen to stories, play games and enjoy a sausage sizzle at Redwood Library this Saturday. The library will be hosting Stories in the Park, right on their doorstep at the local Redwood park. The session will start at 11am and run until 12:30pm.

Share Kai and Kōrero Opawa

Try beloved and traditional kai from Afghanistan this Saturday evening at Share Kai and Kōrero Opawa. Come along to Risingholme Hall for tasty, healthy kai while having a chat to others around the table. This free evening will be on from 6pm – 8pm featuring dumplings, stuffed bread, rice and sauces, Persian tea and more.
