Well Election Year 2008 is going to be a very very interesting time. This year we will be electing our 49th New Zealand Government.
The word on the street is people are nervous and anxious about what will happen in this upcoming election. There are a number of key elements that are causing people to be wary. These include the increasing price of oil and flowing onto petrol and flowing on to us the consumers as food and transport all go up in price. Also there is concern for the looming recession that is been projected and the downturn of the housing market.
All these things are all doom and gloom stuff really and unfortunately for the government it’s all happening on a crucial election year. From talking to some of the people I am working with there are a number that are considering buying but don’t know whether to wait till the election so that they know what’s going on etc.
The other thing I have on my mind is the Presidential election in the US. And what impact this will have on the rest of the world, if any.
Myself I believe life will always go on and what happens happens and it happens to all of us. But it still is uncertain times. Who knows? What’s your thoughts on this situation? Will a new government make a change on how people feel about the state of things or will our current government be able to keep us above board.
