Friday 17 May 2008 – A day I wont forget in a hurry…..
It started at 8:15am on my way to the office, where I was driving behind a car towing a trailor load of wood. Next minute I know a few logs are falling off. And there was nothing i could do but run straight over them. At the time it didn’t feel very good at all but I continued driving to the office> Upon closer inspection I notice a fairly steady leak of oil. Just what I needed, BMW parts aren’t cheap. So there goes my wheels for the day and I had a very busy day. But from here on in it just got worse.
As the day progressed my voice started to go, which by 1pm had completely gone (due to the flu I have). So the my schedule had to be postponed, as I went to the doctor, but in the short time I was at the doctor one of my buyers in which I negotiating a deal for decided she would go with another agency and buy a different house. After spending three days negotiating. That pissed me off!! But the amount of stock out there gives purchasers a lot of choice to do this.
Anyway on the way back to the office in the loan car I went to see my Vendor. He was more than aware that this might happen but the sad thing was just as I pulled up someone run over his cat right in front of our eyes, and my vendor had just put his dog down that morning, so you could imagine the day that he was having as well. But the terrible thing was that the person who run it over didn’t even stop!! Now accidents do happen but not stopping – thats a whole different story.
But my day didn’t stop there. When I got back to the office I was waiting for two deals that were on the run to be confirmed on their conditions. But at 5 minutes to 5 both of them came through and fell over due to the people not being able to get finance. What a bugger, but apparently its tough to get finance out there at the moment.
So you could see my day was very very good, and with no voice it was even better. But it hadn’t finished yet! Finally on my way home at 7pm I was driving down my street and I come across a guy laying pace down on the road. So I stop and see if he needed assistance, and he sure did, the guy was foaming at the mouth and slightly jolting. He must have taken some sort of drugs…. After putting him in the recovery position away from the road we get medical crews to look at him and take him away. But the ironic thing that the only other person to stop and see whats going on was the vendor that had also had the shocking day.
How much of a turn of fate is that. Now my town isn’t that small, but what a day. But on hindsight today we got a contract on his place from someone else which is going to pay what he is asking. And one of the other places that fell over yesterday I got an unconditional offer from someone I had in the wings. So all up yesterday was probably one of the most unusual and frustrating days I have ever had. It was just one thing after another. And the bad thing about it, it always seems to happen when your sick.
Has anyone else reading had experiences like this?
Please do share with us if you have….
Deon, I was going to suggest that you should not leave your house for the rest of the weekend but it looks like things have taken a turn for the better today. Glad to hear it. Besides, it seems that you had enough bad luck yesterday to last for a couple of years! Hope you get your voice back soon 🙂

Haha I thought about locking the door and throwing away the key. I seemed to have bad luck chasing me around yesterday, literally. Although the voice is still gone Im bsttling away. Had to do something…
