Christchurch Model Yacht Club open day

Head down to Lake Victoria at Hagley Park North from 10am – 7pm on Saturday for an open day celebration 125 Years of continuous operation at the Christchurch Model Yacht Club.

Find out about this historic club and see the high-tech radio-controlled boats on display and racing, alongside historic and unique boats. A vintage cannon will start the feature race, Founder’s Trophy, at 1:30pm. All ages are warmly welcomed with a complimentary BBQ operating throughout.

The Origins of New Zealand Air Power

Get ready for an exciting event at the Air Force Museum of New Zealand, commemorating 100 years of New Zealand military aviation at Wigram! Immerse yourself in over a century of aviation technology at the birthplace of it all on Saturday 17 June.

Check out the NZPAF100 exhibition, architecture tours of the historical Air Force base, live music and more! Also don’t miss the spectacular flypasts of the Royal New Zealand aircraft fleets at 2pm. Bring your whānau and friends to the Air Force Museum and discover the fascinating origins of military aviation in New Zealand.

Matariki Takiura, Matariki Wānaka – Whānau Day

Join us for our free Whānau Day at Tūranga to celebrate Matariki. Enjoy Wā Whānau (Family Time) featuring Storytimes with Loopy Tunes, crafts, games and other activities.

Get involved in Hangarau Taiohi (Youth Tech), which includes coding, robots, cameo cutter, badge making and music, featuring DJ Danny-ill and members from YCD. This free event will take place from 10am – 2:30pm on Saturday.

Hornby Indoor Market

Check out the Hornby Indoor Market this Saturday from 10am – 2pm at South Hornby Primary School, 35 Amyes Road.

Take a look at jewellery, artworks, crafts, plants, bath and body products, children’s wear and more! Grab a bite to eat or a coffee from food stalls and enjoy the great atmosphere! The Hornby Indoor Market is held on the third Saturday of each month, excluding December and January.
