Know someone who can pop best manu in town? Do you have a comic book fan in the family? Or just want to get in the festive spirit? There’s plenty to keep the whole family entertained this weekend!

Manu competition 

Head along to Jellie Park on Sunday 11 December with your togs, towel and sunscreen to show us what you’ve got in our manu competition!

Get amongst the fun and enter in one of four categories to win prizes: under 13s, 13 to 18 years, open female and adult.

Six heats are being held at our pools across the city ahead of the grand final on Sunday 12 February at Jellie Park.

Christmas outdoor movie extravaganza 

Enjoy some classic Christmas family favourite movies with The Grinch and Love Actually right in the heart of the city in the Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre outdoor cinema on Saturday 10 December.

Tickets are $5/$10. The Grinch (rated G) starts at 5.30pm and Love Actually (rated M) starts at 7.30pm. 

BYO low chairs, picnics, and blankets.

Armageddon Expo 2022

Armageddon Expo returns for a Christmas event unlike any other at a new venue Te Pae in the city centre.

Meet TV and movie stars from Serenity and Fire-fly, Star Trek Picard, Outlander, Titans and more!

Cosplay costume event and special guests, anime, collectibles, huge gaming displays and events, food, music, role-playing games, trading cards, comics, clothing, and killer displays alongside a wide selection of collectible artist alley areas with unique products. Tickets from $12.

Carols on the Avon

Join Punting on the Avon in conjunction with the Salvation Army for special punt rides featuring live Christmas music.

Festive 30-minute rides will be departing at 11am and 12 noon on Saturday 10 December, with local performing groups Addington Brass (11am) and Nor’west Brass (12pm) playing carols and other music on board.

Bookings are essential for these Christmas punt tours, in conjunction with the Salvation Army, to share some festive cheer with our community this holiday season. Tickets from $15.
