As someone who has battled with a dust allergy for years (quite successfully), I have a further suggestion: thoroughly vacuum the mattress on the highest vacuum setting reasonably regularly, and also turn it over from time to time.

Cleaning certainly helps with the problem but it will never get rid of them but if you dont have a good filter you risk spreading their feces and making more of an issue with stirring them all up.
