The Christchurch Brick Show 2023
This Saturday and Sunday, the Wolfbrook Arena will host over 250 Lego enthusiasts hailing from every corner of Aotearoa! New Zealand’s largest Lego Show, the Christchurch Brick Show, is coming back to Ōtautahi this year, showcasing a starstudded lineup of Lego Masters from seasons one and two as exhibitors. Expect all-day entertainment for the whānau and their littlest Lego enthusiasts at Imagination Station’s build and learn zone featuring play pits, mosaic walls, ramp races, and more. Tickets are just $6, and available at the door or online.
While you’re checking out the Brick Show make sure to pop over to the Christchurch City Council stand as we find out what matters most to Christchurch residents about their city. With challenging issues and decisions on the horizon, we want to hear from as wide a range of viewpoints as possible to inform the Council’s Long Term Plan 2024–2034. At the stand you’ll be able to use tokens to show us what matters most to you. Learn more here.
Te Rā: The Māori Sail
Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū welcomes Te Rā, the only known customary Māori sail in existence. Woven from harakeke more than 200 years ago and held in storage for many years at the British Museum, the homecoming of this taonga is a deeply significant moment for all New Zealanders.
Christchurch Art Gallery warmly invites you to check out the opening weekend of this exhibition for a fascinating selection of panel discussions, films and demonstrations. The exhibition will be available at the Gallery from tomorrow until 23 October. Find more information about this once in a lifetime homecoming here.
